JESUSMANIA! update (2)

The Fall 2016 Friends of Musselman Library Newsletter has two pieces of interest. My “Research Reflections” article details the processes of discovering and writing about the Superstar production, while “Remembering 9/12” focuses on the Ground Zero memorabilia donated to Musselman Library by Rev. Larry Recla, the production’s director-coordinator (and pretty much the “superstar” of Jesusmania!). I was fortunate enough to be able to curate Larry’s materials as an exhibit, which has been on display at the library during the Fall 2016 semester.

I also videotaped Larry’s sermon, on the subject of his Ground Zero experience, at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg on September 14, 2016. You can view it here.

And finally, Sheila Joy, my counterpart as Archives Assistant at the seminary (and the source of key photographs for the book), has featured Jesusmania! at the blog of the A.R. Wentz Library and Seminary Archives. Sheila includes a great image of Larry’s graduating class. See that here.
